Read!
A week or so ago my granddaughter wrote a review of the book Matilda for her local library. I published it here with her picture and the book.
She now has a poster for her efforts which includes her, Matilda, and her mom (also a reader).
Inasmuch as I am writing (And writing. And writing), I'm not blogging. So I'm using the poster to urge you to READ!
And if you're very good (and my daughter lets me) I will tell you the story of the shirt she is wearing in the poster. If not, make one up and write your own story!

Keep at it Anne!
Kate's busy too - seen that pic of Sid?
Snigger, snigger.
Best wishes,
Rach.
Rach,
Yes, I've seen the pic of O'Sidney! Outrageous. Of course he denies it's him.
Back to the grindstone!
Anne
Anne, Am I imagining things, or do I recognise your happy smile in your granddaughter?
Is this the one who was born the night you won the RITA? So wonderful that she's a reader.
Barb,
Possibly, but I have more teeth!
And yes, she's the RITA baby. And she definitely is a READER -- all caps.
How lovely to see the "glow" baby! She's so cute. My own baby -- who you've met -- was the first person to borrow Matilda from our local library. She didn't get a poster, but she did get the first sticker on the window for reading The Snow Spider, when they were promoting "magical" books.
She's all grown up now, but still a great reader.
Thanks, Liz. She's a handful. But fun (most of the time). And how great that your daughter got to be the first to borrow Matilda.
It's a fun book, but I don't remember any of my kids reading it. Perhaps they weren't the right age when it came out. Two of them are reading it with their own kids now, so they're enjoying it. And I expect when the others have kids, they'll get to read and enjoy it, too.
Lovely pic, Anne. (Now tell us the shirt story???)
